Hi gang,I just thought it would be a good thought provoker to continue the thought that ### introduced. And in a nutshell his thought is this:
Why die for Christ--unless--He will send you to "hell forever" if you do not?
To me, such a question reveals a shoddy "Christianity" in which the REAL motivation for our self-sacrificing acts of love is fear of "hell."
Sicko, ain't it?
Is THAT the reason you would give up your life for a loved one--or die for the sake of another person? Is THAT the reason I'd give up my life for ### or my son or my wife or for you?
Nope.
And I'm not even a GOOD Christian! Not by any stretch of the imagination... I know "pagans" who have more courage and love working in their lives than I do. Nonchristians from the dawn of history have gladly laid down their lives for the sake of someone else or for a worthy cause.
Even DOGS have given their lives for the sake of other humans and animals.
And yet...
Christians steeped in ET would urge that that apart from fear of being consigned to some "eternal hell" there is no motivation to give up one's life for Christ!
Sheesh! Lord have mercy...

Unconditional love" packs many conditions, yes? :-)*thou shalt turn to the Lord and worship Him whether or not you've ever heard of Him, for you are without excuse and going to hell FOREVER if you don't do it PRONTO--in THIS lifetime.
*Nevertheless, thou shalt not take credit for thine own salvation, for NO ONE seeks God, and there is none righteous, no not one--for if YOU could turn to God on your own, then Jesus died for nothing!
*God is Love and Love never fails unless YOU fail to love him (and others) with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength and learn to pronounce his name properly and understand all the mechanics of his trinitarian being before it's too late.
And the list goes on... I think there are at least 663 more conditions...
Ain't it stimulating living in the joy of meeting all the conditions of unconditional love?
