Unies REPENT!The Calvinists are demanding that you REPENT from your heresy and adopt the position:
*I am part of an elect few God has chosen to treasure and love, but I'm not so sure about YOU, pal. There are only a few people in this world whom God loves--only a few who can count on Him, and *I* am one of those fortunate few. You'd better shape up PRONTO and believe in Jesus before it's too late, just as I did, or He will fry you forever and ever.
The Arminians are also demanding that you REPENT of your heresy and adopt the position:
*I am part of a successful few that God can count on to make sufficiently wise and timely choices in this lifetime to spend eternity with Him enjoying pie in the sky. But I'm not so sure about YOU, pal. There are only a few people in this world God can count on, and I'm (ahem! fairly) certain that I'm one of them. You'd better shape up PRONTO and believe in Jesus before it's too late, just as I did, or He will fry you forever and ever. But He will ALWAYS love you--unconditionally--even as He burns you alive for eternity. Isn't that comforting? :o)
And when you TRULY repent your position as a Calvinist toward your non-christian departed loved ones who are supposedly agonizing in "hell forever" must be--
* I rejoice exceedingly that God has chosen to damn and torture forever my agnostic grandmother who expended great love and sacrifice to rear me when my parents became hopelessly crippled and brain-damaged in a car crash. SHE is an eternal object lesson of God's HOLY wrath against sin, and *I* am an eternal example of His mercy and grace. After all, how could I TRULY be God's elect child who is being conformed to His holy likeness and NOT rejoice in His sterling justice?
And when you TRULY repent, according to the glad tidings of Arminianism, your position must be--
* As a Christian being conformed to the Lord's HOLY likeness, I rejoice exceedingly that my earthly father is burning in hell forever. God is NOT just love; He is also HOLY! My dad backslid and died heartbroken after the church kicked him out for not overcoming his alcoholism as quickly as they thought that he should have done. Yes, he worked hard to provide for me and my family and brought me up in the best Christian environment he could. But he made his choice, and I have made mine. He is getting what he deserved, and I will get what I deserve! (I'm fairly certain God can count on me to die in faith and obedience, that's why I'm such a joyful and carefree Christian, after all!)
Oh yes, and don't forget that the FRUIT of the Spirit is...joy.
If you don't have joy after having embraced the "truth" then it's quite possible that you either aren't in the elect, or you haven't yet properly exercised your FREE WILL.
REPENT, UNIVERSALISTS!!!
You are fortunate that God is still looking for a few more good men.
(Make sure that you repent properly, however. For Calvinism and Arminianism CANNOT both be right, so one of them HAS to be wrong. Your eternal destiny is at stake here. Just a reminder...)
