Hi Gang,Just to provoke some thought and prayer, it is no wonder the world prefers agnosticism and atheism over the Glad Tidings of Great Joy that much of the church proclaims.
Here it is in living color---
* You can count on God---if---He can count on you. Even so, legalism is wrong so you must take hell "seriously" and yet not take it "too" seriously, and you must "rest in God's grace." (Free-willism)
* You can count on God---if you can be *certain* to make your calling and election sure and be part of a chosen few. But don't worry about it much, because in many cases "once saved always saved" pans out. You *probably* are in the elect. (Calvinism)
* Love must not only come in words, but it must be shown in DEEDS done in reality to be authentic love. Except in God's case. God *hates* the non-elect while he "desires" that they be saved while he has chosen *not* to save them. (Calvinism) Or He "loves everyone unconditionally"---(with deeds) ON THE CONDITIONS THAT (1) they follow the inner light of their conscience until they find their (lost?) Good Shepherd and receive Him, (2) continue to obey Him consistently, and (3) keep making sufficiently wise and timely choices so they WILL BE ABLE TO REMAIN FAITHFUL TO HIM until they die.
* Upside of Calvinism and Free-willism: Abortion is wrong and we must oppose it because it "devalues human life."
* Downside of Calvinism and Free-willism: Therefore when the saints judge the world there will be perhaps billions more human beings that the saints and their "World ? Savior" can consign to endless fiery agony. Thus it would seem that we oppose abortion today in the hopes of hell having a fuller house tommorrow.
* God loves you "unconditionally", but that doesn't mean he will help you except on the *condition* that you prove out to be in the elect (Calvinism). Or He loves you "unconditionally" (with active love) if you meet all of the conditions of resting in His grace while you keep constant watch on your free will and keep making wise and timely choices.
* All He requires is faith
* Faith without works is dead
* Faith is a gift from God, not a work
* God has given to every man a portion of faith
* God gives saving faith only to the elect
*Jesus loves the little children of the world. (But his active love for them becomes conditional on the day and hour when they reach the age of accountability, saith Free-willism.)
*Calvinism (in its pure form) declares that Jesus loves only a relative few of the world's childeren. However, we must oppose abortion, even so. Why should *we* parants risk going to hell by trying to abort a fetus so that if it goes to hell it won't compute any suffering? According to this grim ideology it would seem that saving *myself* and *yourself* is what matters!
* "God so loved the world"---we only preach that to evangelize. However, when we disciple our new converts we teach them that Our Good Father is not so "all-encompassing" in His love as we led them to believe at first. World actually means "the elect" of this and previous dispensations that are 'in' the world. (How deceptive, and what utter *MOCKERY* of God's character, this manipulative policy!)
* Jesus came to fulfill the law and the prophets. However He has already planned from ETERNITY PAST to treat billions of people as He will not ever be treated: BURN THEM ALIVE FOREVER. But just accept it in "childlike faith" and don't question. The Law and the Prophets that are summed up in "What you would have others do to you, you do also to them" is intended for---*you*---to fulfill. So Christ only told us to emulate His Father and be "perfect" as he is by loving our enemies to make Him sound nice, it would seem. If Calvinism and Free-willism are true that has to be the case. But don't question. Just accept it in simple faith. (Remember, this is what the world is being asked to do.)
*Legalism will send you to hell because it nullifies the cross. And if you are legalistic, that indicates that you probably haven't been "truly" born again. Truly born again believers are serene, at rest, and transmit love and grace. They serve the Lord ONLY because they love Him.
*On the other hand, disobedience will send you to hell because it indicates you have not been truly saved. Truly born agian Christians are zealous of good works and shun the *VERY APPEARANCE* of evil. Therefore we must live and attire ourselves by "biblical standards". Truly born again people exhibit "THE FEAR OF THE LORD". (Meaning the fear of his hopeless abandonment to fiery torture.)
*Missionary Day and Sunday serman: "How can we Christians be so complacent and live so sumptiously while millions are slipping into a Christless eternity daily!?"
* Closing announcements: Don't forget kids, all of us are going to Disney World next week, so don't be late to the airport! We'll be leaving at 9:30 A.M sharp, so you'll need to be there at least a hour before take off," etc...
* "We've GOT to rid ourselves of all of this *PERFORMANCE BASED* religiosity. Religosity is the BANE of Christianity and is demonic!" saith the Free-willist preacher. (Meanwhile the demon smiles smugly that lurks in in the lying doctrine that forms the base-line of the preachers glad tidings: YOU CAN COUNT ON GOD--IF--HE CAN COUNT ON YOU.)
* "All of this prejudice, bigotry and exclusivism is NOT worthy of the body of Christ", bemoans the Calvinst preacher. (Meanwhile a hollow cackle emerges from the lie he embraces as the glad tidings: YOU CAN COUNT ON GOD--IF--YOU ARE PART OF AN EXCLUSIVE FEW.)

Well, folks, there it is. The glad tidings of great joy which shall be to all (?) people that much of the church still proclaims. It has not been in my heart to mock---but to *expose*---the mockery that parades itself as a message from heaven to a pain-wracked world.Something to pray and think about...
Yours Prayerfully and in His Unfailing Love,
Charlie
