What you fail to see (because you apparantly only skim over my posts and don't actually read them) is that I do exactly the same thing that you do. I watch and listen to the Lord and, by the Spirit, I win folks to Christ also. If you'll read my responses to Craig in the thread below you'll see what I mean.You ask what testimonies do I have that posting articles on the WHOLE gospel and highlighting God's *true* character are "working"? I just received three days ago a long e-mail from a backslidden Christian guy that had finally become an agonostic after he had come on "Job's troubles" for several years, for only one example. He said that after reading my posts, he burst into tears and began to experience HOPE that God really loved Him after many years of doubt and despair.
#####, there's NO WAY a person (who is deeply aware of his own sinful wretchedness) can keep "looking unto Jesus" while not seeing "the truth as it is in Jesus" concerning His JUDGMENTS. You cannot separate Jesus Himself from His words and teachings--DOCTRINES. And if Christ's words which "are spirit (breath!) and life" (?) are that He plans to abandon billions of people to endless punishment, perhaps one's self and loved ones included--then His commands ARE burdensome--beyond the power of words to calculate. I mean they are burdensome for badly shattered people who take their perversions and addictions SERIOUSLY.
#####, there's no getting around it. Your message is--
"You shall love the Lord your God with ALL OF YOUR BEING (Unconditional, total commitment)--while bearing in mind "the truth (?) as it is in Jesus" as you "ever look unto Jesus"--that His commitment to you is CONDITIONAL on your performance in this lifetime."
And then... You have the gall to urge folks NOT to worry about this horrific burden--NOT to take it seriously at all times--but to try to "look to Jesus" while NOT remembering "the truth as it is in Jesus": His teachings and doctrines.
I know you mean well, #####. But it was injesting your
kind of double-speak that finally landed Charlie here in a
mental hospital. It was trying to love God more (with
stronger commitment) than He loved me that kept me unhealed
from deeply entrenched sexual perversion and alcoholism for decades. It was the revelation of God's COMMITTED love to "unite ALL creation Christ" (You and Charlie included) that spawned a love affair with God that set me free.#####, you would urge us to have "a love affair with God"
while also remembering that He may have already foreseen
that we will foul up in the end, and He already knows we
will perish in "hell" forever. You would have folks try to
love God with total comittment while remembering that His
commitment to them is conditional. And at the same time you would urge despairing and deeply shattered people not to
worry about it, but to "cast all your care" on Jesus."I'm praying that the Lord will help you see the cruelty of
your double-speak. I know it s UNconscious on your part.
