It is said that when certain exxlesiastical leaders
in the 1770's incessantly complained to the king of Prussia about a clergyman
teaching universal salvation in their area, he finally reluctantly agreed
to depose the minister, commenting: "Since your articles of faith would
have it so, I cannot hinder the people of your town from being eternally
damned."
Do you see the humor in what that king said?
