Since sin will abound over
grace for most people...

....* Then "sin" and *your* performance must become the focus, so as to avoid landing among the majority for whom sin will abound over grace. That is, if you take your own sinful tendencies--seriously--AND take the doctrine of God's supposed hopeless abandonment *seriously.* If you do not, then of course, you can "rest in God's love and grace"--and at the same time--"believe" he may get rid of you in the end. All that is required for such blissful double-mindednes is an innate sense of superiority and pride that one's own sins are not REALLY as serious as those of most people.
* As you look ever to Jesus (Heb.12:2) while remembering the truth as it is in Jesus (Eph.4:21) that you must fear Him who is able to destroy soul and body in "hell" (Matt.10:28) you must refuse to worry (Matt.7:34) for worry is fear and unbelief, and the fearful and unbelieving shall have their part in the lake of fire that burns "forever and ever." (Rev.21:8;20:10) Yet at the same time you must BE AFRAID, (Rom.11:20-21) for if God did not spare the natural branches, he may not spare YOU either. You must CONTINUE in His goodness, otherwise you also will be cut off!

This little song may help get you through the day--

Sort of standing on the promises of Christ my King,
While hoping that the power of my free will shall bring,
Assurance that I'm one that God foreknows won't fail,
I'm sort of standing on the promises of God!

Standing, sort of,
Standing on the promises of Christ my Savior,
Standing, sort of--------------
I'm sort of standing on the promises of God.
(While also trusting in my own free will.)
