: But first off, quoting you--: ***With a Christian who lives in the Spirit, they rule nothing. When a sinner repents, they cease to rule him. The Spirit is stronger than any influence.
: ***The enemy is out there, but he loses every battle if you stay in the Spirit. I've met Lucifer three times, he isn't a nice guy. His angels aren't any nicer, either.
There is nothing he can do, though.Charlie:
Notice your words "If YOU--stay--(verb connoting effort and action) in the Spirit." But this is indeed a light burden, provided one doesn't add "thus YOU determine your *eternal destiny* in THIS lifetime" into the equation, thus turning it into salvation by works. Turning faith into a work with the words waffled so that they SAY "rest." However--A four year old son of one of our neighbors in San Antonio was born demon possessed. Later a friend of ours cast the spirit out and the boy has grown up to be a healthy young man. But according to your salvation-is-a-gamble ideology, Toby himself LET that spirit in of his own "free will" while he was in his mother's womb. Good thing he didn't die before the excorcism took place, huh? And the same is true of the lad in the Bible that demons kept casting into the fire(place). He sure was "lucky" that the Lord showed up before them demons killed him and took him to "hell", right? Yep. That is exactly right if your glad tidings is true. Luck and human effort are the bottom line factors governing the universe. Would you like to enter into "worship and praise" to the god that is only as reliable as you are? Go for it, Bond. Whatever turns ya on. But NOT me Magee. :-)
